A lambda sensor
is a lambda sensor oxygen sensor which is located in the exhaust of a Yamaha outboard motor.
The lambda sensor measures the proportion of oxygen in the exhaust gas and passes them to the CDI of the Yamaha outboard engine. The value is an indicator for the effectiveness of the combustion. Depending on the lambda value is this by the engine management system adjusted by the composition of fuel and air to adjust by the gasoline injection ratio adjust, by the injection time of the injectors to change.
Let the outboard motor between 1500-2000 RPM/per min turning the throttle by pressing forward. It is important the outboard engine with a flush clamp or
in the water to make it run.The life span of a lambda sensor depends on various factors. Is there with the outboard many short pieces of hazards, then the life is often shorter. Pollution by motor oil (oil consumption) and poor quality gasoline also shortens the life of the lambda sensor. The operation of the lambda sensor is best with diagnostic equipment and or good multimeter/scoop.
